10 things that I love: #9: Harvest Blue Grape, Indiana Carnival Glassware

My family has been collecting this glassware for years. This glassware was created in the 1970's and every time I walk into a second-hand store, antique shop, or stop at a garage sell, I'm hoping to come across a piece to add to the our family collection.

This glassware only comes out of the china cabinet during special meals such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as a few Wedding parties.

They are fragile, expensive, beautiful, and have more sentimental value than most items in our home.

One of these days the collection will be handed down to me, and then hopefully one of these days I will have the opportunity to hand it down to someone else. In the meantime though, they have a nice place in our family china cabinet, on display to whoever walks by it, and only come out on special occasions.

Here are some pictures (ones that I've stolen off the internet) of some of these beautiful and rare pieces of glassware. Aren't the colors amazing?

Punch bowl with cups (we own at least 3)

Pitcher

Drinking glass

(This drinking glass is an actual picture that I took)

Goblet

Fruit Bowl

Candy dishes

Canister

Sugar bowl and creamer bowl

Butter cover and dish

Candle Holders

This is definitely a treasured collection, and I hope to add more pieces in the years to come :D
